IDSwest 2012 Recap

September 27th to the 30th, Interior Design Show West held their 8th annual show at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Many familiar faces as well as new ones were there to celebrate, share and discuss interior design on the west coast.

Short video showing a few highlights from the show.

Every year we try to take a new approach to our IDSwest booth. This year was no different; we created three distinctive spaces separated by peaking room corners and defined by primary colours, each with their own feel, sensibilities and sophistications. Inform offers a vast variety of styles to suit individual needs and it’s important to us that our present and future clients know that we offer customized services, providing countless options.

The opening night party was buzzing with excitement and included live music, cocktails and a fashion show by Vancouver Fashion Week.

Yellow (right to left): Cassina LC4 chaise, Bensen Index, Torii chairs, Radius table, and the new Morgan sofa accompanied by Riva stools.

Blue: Eclectic by Tom Dixon prominently displayed in front of Zanotta’s new Party sofa and Bensen Brix modular storage.

Blue cont’d: Bocci’s 21 series suspension lamps, the Onda bed by Poliform on top of a Nanimarquina Manuscrit rug.

Paul, head of our Contract division, welcoming visitors to our booth.

Red: Mostly comprised of B&B Italia pieces. Mart chairs in the foreground, Michel sectional sofa and coffee table, and a Fortuny floor lamp in the corner.

Red cont’d: JJ armchair in the foreground, Athos dining table surrounded by Papilio chairs. Crown chandeliers from Nemo lighting.

The Bocci bar was made entirely of cartons from their new 28d lamp. The lamps themselves spilt out and over the bar providing playful and moody atmosphere.

Piero Lissoni stopped by the Inform showroom on Saturday, toured our showrooms, talked design with fans and not only signed copies of his book Recent Architecture but graciously drew original sketches in the books. Lissoni seemed to be a true gentleman, not only talented but graceful. He sat with Nancy and recored the next instalment of Design Lives. Nancy tell us that it’s sure to be a great one.
